Viagra, harmful to your ears?

Viagra and other drugs that help reduce erectile dysfunction were the cause of many cases of sudden hearing loss. The warning comes from the UK.

The magazine “The Laryngoscope” of researchers have expressed concern about the side effects of Sildenafil (the active ingredient of Viagra) and related drugs, fears endorsed by a number of cases of hearing loss in the U.S..

The experts are then asked in-depth investigations by the authorities but in the meantime the case studies in America, Australia and Asia who had complained of hearing problems have since admitted to taking pills for impotence.

There are already 47 suspected cases of sensorineural hearing loss in one or both ears result from taking these drugs. Would come from the U.S. reports that 223 more will go pear verified. At the moment it seems that those affected have an average age of 57 years although there are two cases of 37 year-old patients. It is still unclear, if there is a direct correlation between hearing loss the assumption Viagra.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, the body of the United Kingdom, which oversees drugs seemed skeptical, noting that the hearing loss result from taking these drugs is rare.
